Keeping You Safe – Covid-19
We are delighted to let you know that we have worked hard to make sure that everything is ready to open our door safely once again and we can’t wait to welcome you all back to Ambleside.
Your safety and welfare is paramount and we have therefore developed and implemented a range of policies and procedures to enable us to reassure you of our commitment to keep you safe whilst here at The Gables. Things may look a little different but we want to reassure you that we will continue to offer you our best service and we will do everything we can to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
As a result of this pandemic we have changed many of our daily practices and services to maintain social distancing. As the situation progresses we will review our policies and revise or change them in accordance with Government and industry guidelines.
Before You Stay
We will be in touch with you to confirm all details of your booking and to make sure that your stay with us is as stress-free as possible. A copy of our Covid-19 Safekeeping Policy will be attached together with our T & C’s.
To help minimise queues at Reception upon arrival, balance payments will be taken on the morning of arrival to speed up the check in process using the bank card details you entered at the time of booking. An invoice for your stay will automatically sent to you by email.
A few days before arrival we will forward some digital information on the area to help you plan your stay together with a registration form which requires your virtual signature before returning to us via our messaging service. To ensure social distancing please let us know your arrival time so we can plan to stagger check ins.
Our breakfast room will now be open to residents to use in the evening to eat takeaway food or to heat ready meals in the microwave provided. You are responsible for your own social distancing whilst in this room and we would request that guests vacate the room by 9pm to enable us to thoroughly clean and sanitise.
When you arrive at the front door, please ring the doorbell as the front door will be locked. Hand sanitisers are throughout the building and we would ask that you use the station by the front door before entering the building in addition to regular hand washing.
You will be given your room key which has been sanitised and disinfected and directed to your allocated bedroom so as not to cause any unnecessary congestion in our Reception area. New signage has been installed together with a “one way” system on our lower set of stairs.
Our usual breakfast service can no longer practically take place so we are introducing a “Picnic” breakfast for you to enjoy either in your room, in our dining room or to take outside if the weather conditions are favourable! It will include a selection of tasty treats including an artisan roll filled with bacon, sausage curl or/and egg, fruit juice, cereal bar, warm croissant, fresh coffee and milk and a piece of fruit delivered to your room at your preferred time - to be ordered by 9pm the night before.
In addition to our usual high levels of cleanliness and hygiene we are introducing a disinfectant “fogging” machine which will be used to sanitise your room as part of our enhanced cleaning procedures. Your room will be fogged to disinfect, cleaned then sanitised and fogged again.
Guest bedrooms will be serviced following the third night of any stay at an agreed time when guests are not present. We are also happy to leave fresh supplies of linen in sealed bags outside bedroom doors in sealed bags and collect any used linen so as to minimise the time spent in guest rooms. Extra individually wrapped in-room consumables are always available in the dining room for you to help yourself to.
All public areas are subject to social distancing guidelines. Sanitiser will be provided across all public areas and appropriate signage will be in place across all public areas reminding guests of specific guidelines.
Enhanced Cleaning and Hygiene Protocols
Appropriate personal protective equipment will be worn by all team members and changed frequently.
All touch points in public areas such as door handles, table tops, soft seating, etc will be sanitised throughout the day using accredited disinfectants and sanitising products together with our fogging machine for additional peace of mind.
In addition to our usual strict cleanliness procedures, extra cleaning protocols are now in place in our kitchen for staff preparing your breakfast and our team have been through extensive training prior to opening.
We are making every effort to make The Gables safe and reserve the right to control social distancing within our property. Any guest who breaches these policies will be reminded of their responsibilities and could be asked to leave the property with immediate effect.
Suspected Covid-19 Cases and Guest Isolation
If you are displaying signs of the virus while staying with us, you must inform us and immediately self isolate together with anyone else in your party and request a test. If confirmed you should return home using private transport but only drive yourself if you can do so safely. If you are showing acute symptoms or are having difficulty breathing, seek medical advice immediately. If you cannot reasonably return home you will be expected to pay the costs of an extended stay.
We have introduced much more flexible terms for bookings made directly with us. This will allow you to modify your reservation should Government travel rules change. Reservations made on other booking platforms will be subject to their general conditions.
