We also own Sheila's Cottage, an Ambleside Restaurant and Tearooms in the centre of the village and all our guests are offered special VIP perks!

We have owned Sheila's Cottage since 1998 and have worked very hard to build up a reputation of excellent food and service.  Everything is homemade and cooked to order and  we do endeavour to use local Lake District suppliers wherever possible.  Free range eggs from Windermere, Cumbrian meat from a butchers in Staveley, wine from Frank Stainton a long established supplier in Kendal (so you won’t be finding any of them in the supermarket), cakes from a local lady in Grasmere, tea and coffee from John Farrers in Kendal, the list is endless but an integral part of our business.

So if you are looking for places to eat in Ambleside, we are open daily from 12noon serving everything from wonderful coffees, creamy deep filled quiche for lunch, a memorable cream tea in the afternoon and that all important evening meal with the freshest of ingredients in an informal setting.
